February 27, 2020 meeting

Alzheimer’s Disease continues to be the greatest medical challenge facing our society today.  Already the most expensive disease for our health care system, the costs will skyrocket as the population ages.  Unfortunately, despite billions of dollars spent, no drug has yet been demonstrated to slow the course of the disease.  What is Alzheimer’s disease, and why is it so hard to stop?  Are there new therapies and early detection methods on the horizon?  And what is MD Anderson, a leading cancer center, doing about this problem, and why?  Come join Dr. Jim Ray, Executive Director of the Neurodegeneration Consortium, to hear the latest from the front lines in the war against Alzheimer’s Disease.
