August 8, 2019 meeting

Minta Moore learned of the problem of human trafficking in 2007 and felt moved to do something to help children who have been enslaved in the sex trafficking industry. Like many people, she thought it was an international issue but, none-the-less, wanted to help. However after much research she learned that the problem is here, in our communities, and the victims in the U.S. are not mostly international but were U.S. born. Minta further learned that survivors had little to no services available to them. Mrs. Moore realized what a tremendous need there is for homes that serve the specialized needs of these children. What a fantastic Thursday meeting we just wrapped up! Our agenda was full, just the way we like it! A heartfelt thank you to our fellow Rotarian, Kathleen Clark, for sharing insights about the Alzheimer's Association, an organization that holds a special place in her heart. With over a decade of volunteering, she currently serves as the Executive Event Chair for the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Her commitment to early detection and outreach truly inspires us all! We also want to extend our gratitude to the students who presented to our club today. From RYLA participants to Scouts, and including the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of Veterans Memorial High School, we were genuinely impressed by their accomplishments and their growth as leaders. ...
