Dr. Maria Iyescas serves as a mental health coordinator for CCISD and Driscoll Children’s Hospital and she will be speaking to us about our Calming Corners Project. In 2022, Driscoll Children’s Hospital, the Coastal Bend Community Foundation, and CCISD initiated a three-year Mental Health Pilot aimed at tackling local mental health crises. This year we received a District Grant to help install “Calming Corners” across five participating elementary school campuses.
