Flags for Heroes

Our annual Flags for Heroes program honors all types of heroes. Whether they are first responders, veterans, or simply a grandparent, this program for the entire community sets out over a thousand flags along Ocean Drive honoring our heroes the week of Veterans Day.

Be sure to check out our Flags for Heroes Corpus Christi Facebook page to keep up with the latest dates and to see all of the heroes who have been sponsored.

Our Thursday meeting offered an inspiring look into the incredible contributions of women in the Navy. We were thrilled to have Steve Banta, Executive Director of the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay, share this remarkable history with us. Did you know the Naval Act of 1916 allowed 11,274 women to enlist in the Navy? It granted them equal rank and pay, opening doors to roles beyond nursing, including clerical work, driving, telephone operations, and translation. These trailblazing women broke barriers! This is just a glimpse into the profound impact women have had in our military. Don't miss the Women of the Navy exhibit at the USS Lexington! We also welcomed an inspiring group of students who shared their high school journeys and ambitious goals. We're confident they'll achieve great things! ... See MoreSee Less
