Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, rates of depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts among college students were increasing each year. Recent studies have indicated that for many students, mental health issues have worsened and impacted academic motivation and performance. Dr. Theresa Sharpe, Director of University Counseling Center at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, will share information about how the pandemic has impacted student mental health, depression and suicide warning signs and the services available at the center.
